Just letting u know megaupload is gone, and the patches are not currently available via this site's links.

I had downloaded the patch and programs needed to do this a year and a half ago and succeeded in making 2 copies that played perfectly in my PS2. The bad news is, all of the information was on my external hard drive that crapped out on me so now i no longer have any of it. I have tried downloading the patch again from this website at least 4 times and so far every time I try to download it it comes up with an error and wont complete the download. :'( I REALLY REALLY love this game and I recently moved from california. somewhere in the move my burned copy that works in my PS2 disappeared with the original japanese case and book so now I can't play it! *cries pitifully*. can anyone help me with this download. I don't think it's my computer, but I am on the 5th download try for this patch now and I REALLY REALLY want to play this game. :(

I have been successfully able to convert to ISO with translation patch and it runs on my computer with an emulator program. However I would like to be able to play on my Japanese PS3. Is there anyway that I can do this without purchasing swap magic program? And if I had to buy a program which one? I own a PS3 that is compatible with Japanese PS2 games. Thanks!

I love your patch, but i have a question. I am running the game w/ free mcboot esr on a ps2 slim. It seems like it takes 10-20 seconds to load when leaving one room to go to the next. The same can be said for monster battles. Is this normal or did I do something wrong when I burned the game. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again for this awesome patch!

Im running Win Vista sp2 on a Dual-Core PC and I have the ISO running off Magic Disc (Virtual CD/DVD Drive) and I Have tried applying the language patch ...ive rebuilt the iso with v.1.0 and used a fresh rebuild for v1.2, yet when i get to a certain point in the game when Papas hands me the Map in the begining ..it freezes. anyone have any ideas? maybe i should burn the iso to DVD and run off the drive??? i dunno i don't think that would have an effect on the game playing itself...who knows....any help with this would be greatly appreciated thank you all for your help.

What is the difference between the DW translation and DQ translation for Dragon Quest V PS2?

Trying to find out whats the best launcher with no problems to play Dragon Quest 5.
Open PS2 Loader wont even load up to the menu screen. Anyone else has this problem.

I've been trying to use DQ5_Rebuilder on my computer but I keep getting the following error:

dq5_rebuilder: creation of \\par-Administrador\cache-1237254600/perl510.dll failed - aborting with 2.

I've downloaded the aforementioned DLL and tried placing it on the directory I placed all DQ5 related files, on system32, no luck, in some site I read the dll is related to perl and to fix an unrelated error (different message) it was recommended to download and install activeperl, I downloading and installed the latest version but still no luck.

Any kind of help is much appreciated.

Forgot to mention, the OS is WinXP pro SP3

use magic swap on ps2 slim. So far no problems at all on v 1.1. I am at point in game where I am an adult, but not married yet.

First I would like to say that this game is amazing and y'all did a great job. I know you would want everyone to post little bigs and things that need to be improved.

I am playing this using the Dragon Quest 5 Redump.org image (which is a true 1:1) on my PS2 via a DVD+R via FreeMcBoot

When Henry learned Holy Protection inside the Santa Rosa cave I used the spell (not knowing exactly what it did)...It said it had no effect yet my MP was still used up. That's not the buggy part (Although that can be one). The amount of random encounters inside the cave decreased a great deal and after a few min a txtbox came up and said that the effects of Holy Protection wore off.

Yea...I thought I would report this to the proper authorities so y'all can do whatever you wish with this information :)
