Is there anyone on here who has successfully run DQ5 with a Memor32 card on a PS2 slim USA?

My gaming alias is eternal_sunset. I stumbled across this website a few weeks ago and i have made a purchase of dragon quest 5 from japan. i found out that using a memore32 card can allow you to play an iso file burned to disk so i purchased one of those cuz i REALLY want to play DQ5. on my first attempt the iso will not play so if anyone on here has been successful getting this game going on a US PS2 Slim with a memor32 card and has some tips for me i would love the guidance. not used to using hacks for anything on pcs (much less games on consoles). I followed all the directions i could find installing the memento firmware, installing the iso patch to the iso and then burning the iso to a dvd, but for some reason my ps2 slim isn't reading the disk. i am reburning a new disk to see if adjusting a setting on my burn program will fix the issue, but the ps2 says that my first one is unreadable. any thoughts?

nothing...
Eternal_Sunset — Fri, 05/07/2010 - 18:15apparently the second try was a fail. does write or read speed make any difference throughout this process?
SUCCESS!!!
Eternal_Sunset — Sat, 05/08/2010 - 03:39Apparently the first attempt at ripping the ISO was a fail because IMGburn had a default setting that ripped the ISO as a zip file instead of an image file. however, tried again(first i changed a few of the rip/burn settings) and IT WORKED!!! SO far the game plays GREAT! Kudos to the translation team. this is an OUTSTANDING FEAT! Thanx so much for the hard work you put into this project. Even a "hack novice" like MYSELF can figure it out. ^_^. Also, to anyone who tries to use memor32 card with memento firmware, on a ps2 slim, it is SO easy you wont believe it. Good luck to anyone else who tries to set up the use of this game and the translation. The work and cost is WELL WORTH IT!

Glad to hear it worked out
The Dwaine — Mon, 05/10/2010 - 21:50Glad to hear it worked out for you. Been sick for the past couple days and never got a chance to tell you that I've never heard of anyone having issues with the Memor32 and the slim.
