I'm a new generation DQ gamer.I started series with DW7(one of the best games i have ever played in my life).Then i played DW1(I really liked it).After it i played thru Caravan Heart on my GBA thanks to english translation patch(Was a really good game).Then played DQ8 on my ps2 and the game was awesome.Finally played DQ2 SNES on my ps2 with emulator,and to be honest i hated it(Except musics).
Musics and simple gameplay is most addictive elements for me in DQ universe.Now I'm planning to play DQ4 on my DS but not sure about if you are planning to translate PSX version.If it's in your plans,i won't play it on my DS just like DQ5 thanks to your ps2 translation.
And a statement from wiki(But I'm sure you know this): "Shortly after the Japanese release, several people editing the Japanese ROM file discovered a near complete English translation along with Spanish, French, German, and Italian translations already inside the Japanese game"
